Physiotherapy for neck pain — Rydułtowy

For neck pain, a physiotherapist in Rydułtowy first takes your history and examines you, rules out warning signs, and then chooses the therapy: manual techniques, the McKenzie method, exercises and advice on working at a desk. A consultation at the “W zdrowym ciele” clinic costs 180 PLN. The clinic sees patients privately, with no referral needed, Monday to Friday, 7:00–20:00.

On this page you will find out what physiotherapy for neck pain looks like at our clinic, when you need to see a doctor first and which treatments may be suitable.

In brief

  • A physiotherapy consultation costs 180 PLN, manual therapy 180 PLN.
  • Manual therapy can be combined with TECAR (210 PLN) or with kinesio taping (190 PLN).
  • The clinic is open Mon–Fri 7:00–20:00 at ul. Strzelców Bytomskich 11 in Rydułtowy, for private visits only (not covered by NFZ, the Polish public health fund).
  • The physiotherapist sets the number of visits individually after the first examination.

When should you see a doctor or go to A&E (SOR) first?

  • after a neck injury, e.g. a car accident or a fall;
  • fever with a stiff neck, or a sudden, very severe headache;
  • dizziness with problems speaking, seeing or swallowing;
  • increasing weakness in an arm, clumsy hands, unsteady walking, numbness in both arms;
  • neck pain with chest pain or shortness of breath;
  • severe night pain, unexplained weight loss, a history of cancer.

If there are signs of a stroke (a drooping corner of the mouth, weakness on one side, speech problems), call 112.

What does physiotherapy for neck pain in Rydułtowy involve?

The first visit starts with a conversation about when and in what situations it hurts, and an examination of how your neck, upper back and shoulders move. The physiotherapist also checks sensation and strength in your arms. On this basis they propose a plan: manual therapy, exercises to do at home and changes to how your workstation is set up. The first therapy session often takes place during this visit.

At the clinic we use, among other things, the McKenzie method, manual therapy according to the German school and Cyriax orthopaedic medicine. For long-standing muscle tension, TECAR or massage may be used as a supporting treatment. Exercises are chosen so that you can do them on your own at home and at work.

If neck pain comes with headaches, the physiotherapist assesses whether they may be coming from the neck (cervical spine). Headaches that are new or unusual in character need a doctor’s assessment first.

Do you need a referral to see a physiotherapist about neck pain?

No, you usually do not need a referral for a private visit at the “W zdrowym ciele” clinic. The clinic has no contract with the NFZ, so all visits are paid according to the price list. If you have test results, e.g. an X-ray or MRI of the cervical spine, or records from your doctor, bring them to the first visit, as they make it easier to plan your therapy.

You can book a visit through Booksy or by phone. Older patients are often booked in by relatives — in that case it is worth passing on information about their health conditions and medicines straight away.

Frequently asked questions

How many visits are needed for neck pain?

The physiotherapist sets the number of visits individually after the first examination. It depends on how long the symptoms have lasted, what makes them worse and how your body responds to the first treatments. At follow-up visits the therapist checks for changes in movement and pain and, if there is no improvement, adjusts the plan or refers you to a doctor.

What should I wear to a visit for neck pain?

Ideally comfortable clothing that lets you uncover your neck, shoulders and upper back, e.g. a vest top or a sports top. It is a good idea to take off necklaces and earrings. Bring any imaging results you have and a list of the medicines you take, as the physiotherapist will ask about them during the interview.

Is massage or manual therapy better for neck pain?

That depends on the cause of the symptoms, which the physiotherapist assesses during the examination. Classic massage relaxes tight muscles, while manual therapy also includes an examination, joint mobilisation and choosing exercises. With recurring neck pain you usually start with a consultation, and massage tends to complement therapy, not replace it.

Do you see patients from Rybnik and Wodzisław?

Yes, patients come to the clinic in Rydułtowy from Rybnik, Wodzisław Śląski, Radlin, Pszów and the surrounding area. The clinic is on the first floor of the Health Centre at ul.
